General Information:
This costume pattern is for a men's gambeson/jacket featuring separate short sleeves and a tab skirt. This base pattern can be modified for use with a variety of fabrics including leather, canvas, brocade, or linen, and would make a great addition to any LARP or fantasy costume build. The sample pictured is an example of what can be done with the pattern - the pattern does not contain all of the color-blocking seen in the sample images, but does have some guides included for potential design options.
Contents:
Jacket: fitted hip-length sleeveless jacket with rounded collar and flared rounded hemline. Front closure suitable for lacing, zipper or clasps (button closure would require an extension and no overlap is included).
Sleeves: short sleeves are intended to be tied to the jacket with lacing. The sleeves are not drafted to be inset into the jacket's armscye.
Tab Skirt: 4-piece tab skirt with points in the front and back is designed to attach to a waistband and be worn under the jacket. The base pattern can be modified or adorned as desired.

Size:
The pattern is designed to fit men's US sizes 38-42 chest and 32-36 waist but can be scaled up or down during printing if needed (Finished garment measurements are chest 44", waist 36"). There is also a larger version with finished garment measurements of 48" chest and 44" waist.
Difficulty:
This pattern is fairly advanced difficulty and sewing experience is necessary to build it. There is a basic assembly guide for this pattern, but it does not go into details on specific sewing techniques such as various closures and finishes. Recommended materials:
Shell: Garment weight faux leather, canvas, Cordura, packcloth, brocade
Extra-wide double-fold bias tape or thin faux leather for edge binding
Closures: grommets and lacing or clasps, snaps
Printing:
PDF files are full-size. They can be printed on large-scale printers. For letter-size printing: in Adobe, print at 100% scale and select the POSTER option to break the PDF into separate pages. There is a printing guide with more information included.
